Club History

Merton Gymnastics Club (formerly Canonball Gymnastics Club) was established in 1990 by a small, but enthusiastic group of young coaches. Since then, the club has grown into a well-established and friendly place for children of all ages and abilities to enjoy the wonderful sport of gymnastics.

The club regularly competes at local and regional level competitions, and has a dedicated display team that perform at several festivals throughout the year.

The club is based at Canons Leisure Centre in Mitcham, which is part of the Better family of leisure centres. This allows us to work in partnership with the leisure centre to provide gymnastics courses, whilst they support the club by providing a facility and equipment for all gymnasts to enjoy.

Merton Gymnastics Club actively engage with the local community by performing at school fetes, being part of the Mitcham Carnival, and by running taster sessions during school holidays. Another important part of the club is the fundraising, as we are always trying to raise money for new equipment. This includes club displays, a Christmas disco, raffles, sponsored activities and much more throughout the year!
